Water quality
Water quality
Drinking water means all water, natural or after treatment, intended for drinking, cooking, food and drinks preparation, further water used to body care, cleaning objects which are in contact with food or human body. The water supply operator delivers it to customers.
Requirements relating to water safety and cleanness are set by hygienic limits of microbiological, biological, physical, chemical and organoleptic standards. These limits are set by law, permitted or set by local public health protection authority.
Hygienic limits
-
maximal admissible concentration – set for water quality parameters important for health, if this concentration is exceeded, water can’t be used as drinking water (unless health protection authority set otherwise)
-
admissible concentration – set for organoleptic, operational parameters and for those parameters which occur naturally in water, an excess of this concentration doesn’t mean an important risk to public health
-
recommended concentration – guiding standards which set optimal concentration of substances in water
Quality control
The Vodakva's certified laboratory controls if hygienic standards in the water supply network are met. The number of tests depends on the volume of supplied water and number of supplied inhabitants. Tests results are submitted without delay by e-mail to public health protection authorities. bout 60 - 70 parameters are monitored in drinking water.
These monitoring activities are carried out by central Vodakva's laboratory Březová in new offices equipped with modern devices and advanced computer technologies. The laboratory has a Certificate of Accreditation which is a guarantee for objective and reliable results. The water quality is also carefully monitored during the whole treatment process.
